Thank you for your patience as we work through some necessary planning in preparation for resuming structured learning opportunities for your child. I understand there has been a lot of uncertainty about what learning is going to look like moving forward. I can assure you that we are going to work on key learning outcomes at-home within the parameters established by the province and CBE. To help me understand your family’s access to technology, can you please provide responses to the following three questions: § Does your child have access to a computer, laptop, iPad/tablet, smart phone? § Does your child have access to the Internet? § Is your only option a paper-based education for your child? Here's what you need to know from the students of Room 9. "We learned the technique about making big bubbles." "We've been working on bubbles for a long time and we learned about bubbles that you have to do it on a windy day." "You need to have the right stick to make bubbles and to make a craft bubble wand you can make a stick and a wire. To make your own bubble liquid you can use soap and water and kitchen soap and hot water and make it sit for four or three days and you're good to go." Inventions...

Today we started reading the wonderful book The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Bryan Selznick. This story, told in a mixture of pictures and words, has many fascinating mysteries in it. We will be using it as a starting point for our upcoming exploration of inventions, machines, automata, and silent films. So much to learn and do!
