Colours and More!

 Hi Everyone!

I am hoping to add a little extra to the blog this year, including links to some of the stories we have read, because many students will have longer than usual absences. Please find links in the sidebar to excellent math and reading resources.

This week we used Starfall to help learn about the "s", "a", and "t" sounds, and we played the games under "Learn to Read" for the -an and -at spelling patterns and read the story "Zac the Rat".

We also sang this "-at family" song and made "-at" words out of playdough.

In math, we have been doing basic number writing, so far one, two and three. My rhymes for writing those numbers are:

A ride down the elevator sure is fun, that's the way to make a one.

A curve and a sleeping line will do, that's the way to make a two.

Around the tree, around the tree, that's the way to make a three.

We have also been doing some work on patterns in math. Here is a song we sang: Pattern Song

In science, we have been exploring colour, and read the book below and mixed primary colour paints to invent our own colours. We also did an experiment in making a rainbow with a glass of water.
